OBC Scholarship 2024

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, has released the official notification for the Assam OBC Scholarship Scheme. These are centrally sponsored schemes of Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships for the students of Assam belonging to vulnerable groups comprising Other Backward Class (OBCs), Economically Backward Class (EBC), and Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/S-NT) for the academic year 2024-2025.

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for OBC Scholarship Assam 2024 through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam OBC Scholarship

• Community: Only OBC Community Students are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
• Citizenship: The scholarships are open to Nationals of India only.
• Family Restriction: Only two boys of the same parents/guardian will be entitled to receive scholarships. This restriction will not apply to girls. Accordingly, scholarships availed by girls of the same parents/guardian will not adversely affect the admissibility of availing scholarships for up to two boys of the same parents/guardian.
• Income Ceiling: Scholarships will be granted to OBC students whose parental/guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum. The income certificate should be obtained only from the Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle.

How to Apply for OBC Scholarship?

Candidates need to visit the official National Scholarship Portal https://scholarships.gov.in for the submission of the online application for this scholarship. Follow the steps below to apply online for this scholarship:

1. Scroll down to the Important Web Links section.
2. Click Here on the One-Time Registration link.
3. A new webpage will be opened.
4. Enter your details as required in the portal and register yourself.
5. After registration, click on the Online Application Form and log in.
6. Enter all credentials and upload your documents as required in the portal.
7. Finally, click on “Submit” and take a printout of your submitted application.

Documents to be Submitted along with OBC Online Form

Students mandatorily need the following documents to fill up the OBC Scholarship Application Form:

• Bank Passbook
• Income Certificate
• Caste Certificate
• Aadhaar Card

Note:

1. Applicants are advised to give only those bank account details which remain active so that the payment of the Scholarship does not fail, as all disbursements of the Scholarship will be made through DBT mode. The authority shall not be responsible for any failure of transactions due to inactive or incorrect bank details.
2. Applicants should ensure that they have a bank account seeded with their Aadhaar number.

• Last date of Defective Verification: 15th October 2024
• Last date of Institute Level Verification: 15th October 2024
